Request Deletion of Your Data

This page explains how to request deletion of personal information associated with Needle, including information entered by a tattoo artist or studio for a person who does not have a Needle account.

If you have a Needle account

Use the account-deletion control in the Needle application when it is available, or email privacy@get-needle.com with the subject Data Deletion Request. Include the email address or phone number associated with your account.

If an artist or studio entered your information

You do not need to create a Needle account. Email privacy@get-needle.com with the subject Data Deletion Request and include:

• your full name;
• the phone number or email address given to the artist or studio;
• the artist or studio name;
• the approximate appointment date, if known; and
• whether you want all eligible information deleted or only specific information.

Do not send a copy of your government-issued identification or a full identification number by email.

What happens next

1. We acknowledge and review the request.
2. We take reasonable steps to verify identity. For a record created by an artist or studio, we may ask that business to assist because it collected the information and may have verified the person's identity.
3. We delete or de-identify eligible information and instruct applicable service providers to do the same where required.
4. We explain the result, including any information that must be retained and the reason.

We will respond within the time required by applicable law. For requests covered by laws providing a 45-day response period, we aim to respond within 45 days and will provide notice if a permitted extension is needed.

Information that may be retained

Deletion rights are not absolute. We may retain limited information when reasonably necessary or legally required, including:

• consent, intake, safety, and treatment records that an artist or studio must retain;
• records of identification verification, without a complete government-identification number;
• ink brand, color, and batch records needed for safety or recalls;
• transaction, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and chargeback records;
• security logs and records needed to protect the Service; and
• information subject to a legal hold, dispute, investigation, or other legal obligation.

Where practical, we remove information that is not required while retaining only the limited record that must remain.

Other privacy requests and appeals

You may also request access, correction, or a portable copy of eligible information, or object to certain uses. If we deny a request covered by a law that provides an appeal right, reply to the decision email with Appeal in the subject line.
